EVEN NOW
Joel 2:12-13
12: “Even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.”
13: Rend your heart and not your garments, Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.”
I can think of no other words that can bring more comfort to a broken spirit than the words Joel wrote in the second chapter twelfth verse of the book bearing his name.
EVEN NOW
Two simple words but to a generation of Israelites who insisted on living in disobedience and rebellion our Lord with compassion and love reached down through the pen of his prophet and opened a divine invitation to the people he chose as his own.
EVEN NOW
As the Lords judgement inched ever closer with each passing day, Judah still in their indifference and in their stubbornness refused to see the loving invitation reaching down from the throne of grace to redeem and restore the people God loves so much.
EVEN NOW
I am so grateful that I serve a loving God that even through my own rebellion and disobedience God made a way to restore my relationship with him, I’m so grateful that my God is a patient God that He made a way for all of humanity to find their way back to him through His very own son Jesus Christ. I am so grateful that even though I may stray no matter how dire the circumstances may seem God is lovingly waiting for me to “rend my heart” and return to Him.
EVEN NOW
Dear friend do you find yourself in a season of rebellion or brokenness. God is lovingly waiting for you to turn back to Him. He loves you so much and desires you to return to Him.
Treasure to Ponder: Our God is so loving that he created a way to restore us to Him even before He created this world.
Ephesians 1:4 “For He chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.
